YOU’RE NOT AGING, YOU’RE OXIDIZING
What takes place within our bodies is a bit like rusting; as you age, you oxidize. Oxidation occurs when one atom or molecule loses electrons to another atom or molecule resulting in a brand-new molecule. Oxygen steals electrons from oxidized molecules. A charged molecule (a radical) is eager to bond with any molecule. An unattached radical is a “free radical”, and research confirms they play a role in aging and can contribute to a variety of diseases that can shorten our lives.
